Dear friends,
Please let me share with you my deep appreciation for the incredible level of support you've given to me in the opening days of the Edwards for House District 119 campaign. The weather for last week's campaign kick-off at J.B. Pivots was less than ideal but my wife Darla and I were overwhelmed by the huge crowd of family, friends and supporters - more than one hundred people - who wouldn't let the heavy rain keep them away. It was especially gratifying to see friends and supporters - some meeting for the first time - come together for an evening of fellowship and shared purpose.

We all know what a treasure we have in South Carolina - the greatest state in the union, in my view, and I think the thousands and thousands of new neighbors who move to our state every year would agree. Newcomers and natives alike look forward to South Carolina's future.

While contemplating my entry into this race, I heard from neighbors like you demanding state government accountability, responsibility, and yes, change - the kind of change that begins with electing a new state representative. I will bring to House District 119 a strong, fiscally conservative voice - your voice - to the state legislature.

In the coming years, state legislators will be faced with the responsibility of making some of the most critical decisions in modern South Carolina history. I ask for your continued support in my quest to bring reason and responsibility to Columbia as your representative from House District 119. There is much work to be done but together we can build the promise of tomorrow and light the way to a brighter future for all South Carolinians.

Many thanks,
Lee
